February 24, 2007

Dear Parishioners,

These past few years have gone by fast.

On Easter Sunday, April 10, 2004, we announced the results of our first capital campaign. On that momentous day we reported - “just over 3.1 million dollars has been pledged to date.” The Building Peace campaign involved over 750 volunteers. One thousand two hundred people attended the “Commitment Sunday” presentation.

Now we are nearing the end of our first campaign and already we have received well over $3.1 million in gifts out of a total commitment of approximately $3.5 million dollars!

Much has happened in the past three years. We have purchased and dedicated the land for our new church and we have spent countless hours working with our liturgical consultant and architects, our general contractor and subcontractors creating the best design and structure to meet the needs of our faith community for many, many years to come.

All members of the parish have received a packet containing materials that help explain the importance and necessity of this next campaign that we are calling Building Peace II. We hope to break ground sometime this year for our new church. How much of this church we can complete is up to the generosity and commitment of all of us.

It all starts with us.

We are at a unique time in our history. Not many generations have the opportunity to build a new church. Your parents and grandparents never were called upon to build a new church in Clinton. We have the great privilege of building a church to glorify God and to serve the next generations of Catholics in this area.

Please read the materials that you received and look carefully at the DVD presentation that is sure to inspire you and help you understand the importance of this campaign. If you do not have equipment to view the DVD, we do have VHS copies of the presentation available. Just contact the parish office. Or you can watch the DVD at the office. If you have any questions after reviewing this material, please contact us and we will be happy to respond to your questions.

May God who has begun this great work in our community give us the ability to see it to completion.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Reverend Anthony J. Herold, pastor
