PRINCE OF PEACE COUNCIL MINUTES Opening Prayer: Scripture Readings from Isaiah, St. Paul to the Ephesians, St. paul to the Corinthians and Matthew. These readings were picked because today is the feast of the Dedication of the Carhedral of Davenport. Pastor’s Report: Written report included. Father Tony stated that he and Father Thom would be working on organizing an In-House Parish Mission to be held February 25-26-27. It will focus on the Eucharist as a way of life. Father mentioned that on Sunday there will be a presentation of Peru Revisited at St. Boniface Hall about 2:15 p.m. Father also mentioned the Christmas schedule this year will be the same as in the past. Father mentioned the diocese is preparing to emerge from the bankruptcy and it is time for a new beginning for the diocese. Father announced Betty Mantsch has resigned from her DRE position. Betty has graciously agreed to stay until May. Facilities Report: No written report. Dick Roberts said they have the final figure bringing the total to $5,270,387. Footings are almost complete. Steel has all been delivered and will work on all days possible. Alliant has installed new power poles. It was mentioned the GMax figure doesn’t include furnishings. Old Business:

COMMISSION REPORTS:
Parish Life Commission: No written report. Fran reported on the salad luncheon and said there was good fellowship. Bev attended the Catholic Historical Center at St. Boniface meeting and reported they are working on the 501-3c and getting estimates for electrical and plumbing needs.
Liturgical & Spiritual Commission: No written report. Father Tony, in Father Thom’s absence, said there will be a meeting on Saturday.
Social Action Commission: No written report. Marc Smith said there was no meeting. Next meeting will be in January.
Finance Commission: Ed Kross said they won’t meet until next week.
Faith Formation Commission: Written report submitted. Mary Jo mentioned the Riley program has been cancelled and also mentioned the Peru Revisited program.
A. Evangelization Committee: Written report submitted. Kathy mentioned that Sr. Judy Herold will be coming to present her Coming Home program.
Stewardship Committee: Written report submitted. Letter also attached that will be sent to all Commission Chairpersons. Jim basically told everyone the importance of letting everyone know we are grateful for all who participate in any of the various ministries. Members of the Stewardship committee will be available to help call everyone who has done any volunteering in any ministry and thank them.
Next Meeting January 17, 2008 at 7:00 P.M.
Father mentioned the Open House at the Rectory on January 6.
Father Tony led us in our Parish Prayer.
