PRINCE OF PEACE COUNCIL MINUTES Opening Prayer: A reflection of Mission of the Church from Jesus Christ, Isaiah, 1 John, 1 peter and Luke. Pastor’s Report: Father Tony asked to skip his report, as he will be reporting throughout the meeting and discussion. Facilities Report: No written report. Mike Pittman said they met with Estes Construction and the final cost bids are in and on target. The bids also contain approximately $88,000 worth of enhancements. Not included in the GMAX price are the pews, ambo, altar, piano and organ. We need to pray for Mike as he will be the Parish liaison for the duration. Old Business: New Business: A. Discussion Topic – Prince of Peace School Report: Written report submitted. Lisa Chapman stated we have the report. COMMISSION REPORTS: Next meeting will be November 15, 2007 @ 7:00 P.M. Roll Call: Members present: Father Tony Herold, Father Thom Hennen, Mary Beth Butt, Steve DeBo, Steve Cahoy,
Jim DeMong, Mary Jo Dopson, Kathy Eggers, Joe Leonard, Marc Smith, Stanley Tenboer, Tom Van Buer, Lenny Weih, Odelia Schrunk, Sr. Kathy Holland.

Old Business:
A. Parish Fall Dinner: Cathy reported that it was a very successful event and the youth volunteers grew by more than 20 from last year. There were also 100 people that toured St. Boniface Church.
B. " The Road to Emmaus": Father Tony said he was pleased with the number of parishioners
who attended the Renewal. Father stated that Dr. Ray Guarendi would be in Clinton on October 24th. Father mentioned we need more Renewals on the schedule and Joe said we should not put these on the back burner. It was suggested that we do activities after the new church is built. Father Thom said that Fran Riley is due to come on Sunday, February 10th.
C. Commission and Committee Assignments: Lenny asked each member to list the commission/committee they are on now. This will be checked out before new assignments are given.
New Business:
A. Discussion Topic –Prince of Peace School Report: Written report submitted. Lisa Chapman stated we have the report.
COMMISSION REPORTS:
Parish Life Commission: No written report. Mary Beth reported on the Pork Dinner and the fall luncheon to be held on November 3rd.
Liturgical & Spiritual Life Commission: Father Thom reported the next meeting would be October 27 and they will be discussing Advent.
Social Action Commission: Written report submitted. Marc reported on Habitat for Humanity and the John Deer event, which was held on October 7th, was well attended. The death threats to Bishop Turley in Peru were mentioned. On November 18th, the Peru Pilgrims will give a presentation at St. Boniface Hall.
Finance Commission: Ed Kross reported that we had a good September but we are down the first quarter of the fiscal year. The Building Peace Campaign has $4,083,718 to date. Ed reported that our Diocesan Appeal assessment would be $96,618. They are working on the School and Energy Audit – upgrading on lights. They are also working on the disposition of parish assets.
Faith Formation Commission: Written report submitted. Mary Jo reported on correction made to K4J start date, changing it to October 20th.
Evangelization Committee: Father Thom stated that Sister Judy would be coming to share what she has
done in the past. We are still working our way through the document.
Stewardship Committee: No written report submitted. Odelia stated the lay announcements will be the weekend of October 27-28 and the packets would be distributed at all the Masses. There will be three weekends for collections of the packets. We are still looking for ways to promote Stewardship.
Next meeting will be November 15, 2007 @ 7:00 P.M.
Father Tony led us in our Parish Prayer.
