Approval of Minutes: Approved as printed, with the following amendment; Joe Leonard has concerns about the last paragraph under D. Finance Commission. After discussion, it was decided to delete the 3rd Paragraph which is misleading about the only way to offset the $900,000 debt is to have a 3rd campaign.

Pastor’s Report: Father Thom, in Father Tony’s absence, mentioned that the Peru Pilgrims would be home on Friday and we should pray for their safe return.

Facilities Report: No written report. Dick Roberts said that there is a meeting set up with Estes for June 13th for interaction with the Parish for the duration of the project. Mike Pittman will be the Parish representative for the project and Don Hier from Estes will be the site Superintendent. June 19th was the day the dirt started moving. Dick said to check out the website :www.jcpop.org) as there will be pictures updated periodically.

Old Business: None

New Business:
Groundbreaking Event Update: Fran Cornwall said everything is right on track. City has been contacted, a large banner has been made, and refreshments will be in the tent. There will be people assigned for taking pictures, plus video taping. Father Thom took care of the liturgical rites for the event. Father Thom said there will be an outline of where the new church would be and Bishop Amos will bless the land. There will probably be five or six speakers. Invitations have been mailed out and the neighbors will all be notified of the event. We are still working on how to get the elderly people that can’t walk to the tent for the ceremony.
Campaign Calls: Dave mentioned we have a challenge to reach out to the parishioners that have not been involved and invite them to attend. There will be a list of names that need to be contacted so Dave is asking if we could help make these calls. There are 10 names on each sheet and the script is also attached.
Recognition of Outgoing Council Members: Lenny asked Kathy DeMong and Chuck Rutledge to come forward and receive their plaque. Lenny thanked them for their commitment to the Parish and serving on the Council. Father Thom gave a blessing to Kathy and Chuck. A round of applause followed.

Prince of Peace School Report: None

COMMISSION REPORTS:
Parish Life: No written report. Bev reported that the Funeral Teams and Befriender Ministry are doing fine.
Liturgical & Spiritual Life Commission: No written report. Looking for new Leadership to head up the Environment Ministry for the various liturgical seasons. The commission was all in favor of moving the 11:00 am Mass to Sacred Heart for the summer. Father said there would possibly be a meeting on July 14th, but the regular meeting is scheduled for June 23rd and the main focus will be looking at materials for Print and Praise.
Social Action Commission: No written report. Lenny reported that the Habitat for Humanity house is coming along well and still working on getting 12 churches for the Apostles Build project. Next meeting is the end of August.
Finance Commission: No written report. Ed stated we are about $14,000 below goal for payment of the pledges for ADA. A copy of the new budget is attached. Ed went over some of the items and asked if there were any questions.
Faith Formation: No report.
Update on Evangelization Committee: Father Thom said that they are still working their way through the document on Evangelization in the Modern World and have had many lively discussions.
Stewardship Committee: Kathy handed out the Time and Talent form for the renewal. They are asking the Council to look at the form and if there are any areas that need attention to please contact Dave, Odelia or Kathy.

Next meeting will be August 16, 2007 at 7:00 pm.

Lenny had refreshments for all.

Father Thom led us in our Parish Prayer.

Respectfully submitted,

Bev Putman
